Challenging Spirits for
JesusThe Christian Campus Center has many
needs. We need support from you and your church family. There are many
opportunities to be involved, and I have listed a few of them below. Please feel
free to look them over and prayerful consider helping in one or more of the ways
described below.
Together all of these things help to
make the Christian Campus Center one of the most inviting and used facility for students, faculty
and staff of the Kilgore College Community. Various congregations including Alpine CoC in Longview,
TX; Gilmer CoC in Gilmer, TX; S Main CoC in
Henderson, TX; Westside CoC in Marshall, TX; Eastern Hills CoC in Marshall, TX; Hallsville CoC
in Hallsville, TX; Chandler Street CoC in Kilgore, TX; Pine Tree CoC in
Longview, TX; North Metro CoC in Sacramento, CA and other families and churches in CA and
Texas all stand together to help this ministry.
Opportunities to be a part of this great ministry include,
but are not limited to:
Future Kilgore College
Students: Forwarding the names and contact information of any present
or future students who will be attending Kilgore College. Britt will Personally contact them
and let them know about the opportunities available at the Tri-C.
Lunch for Students: Each and every Thursday throughout
the school year we provide a free lunch and devotional for the college
community. This lunch is sponsored by one of the local congregations.
Sponsorship includes preparing and delivering a meal to feed 120 as well
providing a speaker to deliver a short devotional. Many churches find it more
convenient to simply send a donation and we at the Tri-C take care of
picking up the meal from a local restaurant. We just want your involvement, so
you chose what is best.
Snack Cabinet: Students are
always on the go and are generally short on funds. We try to keep a variety of
inexpensive snacks in our cabinets that include microwave popcorn, peanuts,
ramen noodles, cookies and lemonade. A small monthly donation or one time
offering will help keep the cabinet stocked.
Christian Resource
Donation: The Tri-C has a
growing library of Christian books, videos, novels, commentaries and other
educational resources including college text books available for students. We
always welcome new and used resources that students can use while at the Tri-C.
Operational Supplies: Items including ink jet cartridges
for the three student computer printers are a big help. The Tri-C is one
of the only places on campus that has color printers available free for student
use. We change the cartridges at least three times a semester. Printing paper,
cleaning supplies and tissue for the restrooms are also welcome.
Intern Sponsorship : Each semester the Tri-C
employees at least one student intern to help with the daily operations of the center.
The students are responsible for helping with developing student leaders within
the organization. Other task the interns are involved in include planning and
leading small group Bible studies, working with our international students
through our "Friends Speak" program, helping to maintain a clean and Christ-like
environment, acting as an ambassador for Christ and the center in and around the
Kilgore College Community.
Bible Chair Endowment: Each semester a for credit course Bible course is taught right here
in the Tri-C. Britt has the opportunity to teach the gospel to a variety of students from
a variety of backgrounds all desiring to know a little more about Christ and his
Church. This has been a great outreach to students.
